Product claim: Dermatologically tested

In this article, you will discover additional information about the "dermatologically tested" claim and whether or not you have the ability to make this claim for your cosmetic product.

The claim "dermatologically tested" implies that the product was tested on humans under the supervision of a dermatologist. Depending on the presentation of the claim, it may refer to a specific efficacy or tolerance of the product. Consumer self-perceptions studies are not appropriate to support such claims. The same logic would apply to a claim referring to any other medical discipline.

I want to make this claim on my artwork. What do I have to do?
To mention 'dermatologically tested' on the artwork, you will have to substantiate this claim with a test report. This test report includes the results of a study with your product conducted on human subjects, which confirmed that the product is safe to use on the skin. Please attach the test report to the Asses Claims section in the SkinApp.

A report should be prepared which includes clear identification of the product, enabling
establishment of a link to the product available on the market. This report should also include
the study’s objective, test schedule and test protocol, presentation of results and their
interpretation, statistics, and signature of the person in charge of the study.

In Europe, we can refer you to the company Dermaconsult. They can conduct this type of test for you. We will add the test report to your PIF.
