Raw Material protocol

This protocol shows all you need to know about the different categories of raw materials we see at SkinConsult. You can use this as a checklist when finding or retrieving information for your own raw materials.

Raw Materials can be assigned to one of the following categories. This is how you can find what information is necessary for your specific Raw Material. In order to approve a raw material, SkinConsult strictly abides by EU legislation and checks that each raw material is safe.

Please note that we can only accept documents from/signed by the Raw Material supplier.
We kindly request you to provide us with documentation in English or Dutch

1. Synthetics:

  • Information regarding the raw material supplier/producer and physical state
    - this can usually be found in the (M-)SDS.
  • Composition
    - we can not accept statements from a (M-)SDS.
    - we need at least: INCI, CAS-nr. and percentages adding up to at least 100%
  • Non-animal testing statement.
    - we can only accept statements from the supplier.
    - we can not accept a statement from an end-product.
  • Impurities:
    • Heavy metals (As, Sb, Cd, Pb, Hg)
      - The tradename of the raw material needs to be mentioned in the test-report or statement.
    • Residual impurities that are typical to that synthetic, e.g. residual solvents, residual reactants (monomers in the case of polymers).
      - The tradename of the raw material needs to be mentioned in the test-report or statement.
